The Institute of Integrative Cell Biology and Physiology in the Faculty of Biology at the University of Münster is inviting applications for a
at the earliest possible date. We are offering a fixed-term part-time position (65%) for three years. Full-time employees are required to teach 4 hours per week during the semester.
The position is tied to working towards a doctorate (Ph.D.) in the field of developmental cell biology and genetics. In the three-year project, mechanistic questions related to epithelial tissue morphogenesis in Drosophila melanogaster are to be addressed using genetic, molecular and imaging techniques. Teaching duties involve supervision of undergraduate students at the Bachelor and Master level.
The prerequisite for this appointment is a M.Sc. degree in biology, biochemistry or another related discipline. Candidates with a strong background in cell or developmental biology, molecular biology or genetics are encouraged to apply. Applications from candidates interested in quantitative imaging are especially welcome. A good command of written and spoken English is essential. German language skills would be advantageous but are not a requirement.
The laboratory is based at the Multiscale Imaging Center (MIC), which provides an outstanding interdisciplinary research environment with state-of-the-art microscopy infrastructure (CLSM, spinning disk, SIM, light-sheet, electron microscopy).
