Position Type: W1 Professorship with W2 Tenure Track
Duration: 3 years (with possible 3-year extension leading to permanent W2 professorship upon positive evaluation)
The University of Münster invites applications for a W1-level professorship in Organic Chemistry with W2 tenure track.
The appointee is expected to:
Contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching in organic chemistry and general chemistry for chemistry majors and minors.
Represent the field of organic chemistry in its full spectrum.
Participate in academic administration.
Candidates are expected to develop an independent, innovative, and internationally visible research profile in organic chemistry, including but not limited to:
Development of new synthesis methods
Synthesis and investigation of natural products, biologically active compounds, or functional materials
Collaboration with other research groups within the Institute of Organic Chemistry, the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy, and other natural sciences faculties is encouraged. Participation in coordinated programmes and research priorities at the University of Münster is desired.
Applicants must:
Hold a degree in chemistry
Possess subject-related and pedagogical aptitude
Hold a subject-relevant doctoral degree
Have additional research experience at a university or non-university institution in Germany or abroad
