The Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of Bern, Switzerland, is looking to hire an Associate or Full Professor in Organic Chemistry.

We are seeking candidates with an ambitious and competitive research program in the broad areas of
Medicinal Chemistry
/
Chemical Biology
. Possible research areas include (but are not limited to): oligonucleotides, encoded libraries, peptide chemistry, medicinal chemistry including computer-aided drug design, supramolecular and systems chemistry. Alignment of the research with the strategic goals of the University of Bern (in particular sustainability, and health and medicine) is important.
Teaching assignments comprise basic and advanced organic, bioorganic and medicinal chemistry including laboratory courses for students of chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacy and other disciplines within the Faculty of Science.
The University of Bern has set the aim of increasing the percentage of women in leading academic positions and thus strongly encourages female scientists to apply for the position.
