PhD Position in Macroeconomics at the University of Hohenheim

The Chair of Monetary and International Macroeconomics at the University of Hohenheim invites applications for a PhD position starting June 1st, 2025 or later in the area of Macroeconomics.

Your Profile

  • An excellent Master level degree in Economics or related fields with a strong background in macroeconomics and econometrics and/or numerical methods
  • Strong quantitative and programming skills (MATLAB, Python, or similar)
  • The ability to work independently on an own research agenda
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a research team
  • Excellent collaboration skills with flexibility and strong teamwork
  • Very good command of the English language

Our department provides a vibrant research atmosphere with regular seminars, workshops, and conferences, access to high-quality datasets and computational resources, and funding for conference travel and research visits. You will also benefit from integration into our structured PhD program with specialized coursework. Compensation will be a half time position in accordance with the standards of the public services wage agreement of the State of Baden-Württemberg (EG13-TV-L), with the possibility of increasing to 75% employment. Starting date is June 1, 2025.
